The design I toiled is a very tight fitting design using latex material.
I began my pattern pieces using a swim wear pattern cutting book. I had to adjuct the blocks by making them smaller. I started with the sleeve. I took of center meters off either side of the pattern and down the center front, I did this by folding the paper over on the center front taking one center meter off. I also took a center meter off the elbow line. I then adjucted the sleeve head shape.
I then moved onto the bodice, on my design the front bodice is split into two section due to using two different colours. I began by changing the neck line as its low cut one to fit my design. I didn't want any seams on my bodice so I took out the darts by using the slash and spread technique. Also taking off a center meter off the bust line. I then cut the bodice into two pieces along the readjusted bust line.
Last I had the trousers to change. I began by measuring the dart and taking it off the side of the touser on both the front (3cm) and the back (4cm) to apply it making it tight. Also taking a center meter off the both the front sand back trouser along the grain line. I then took a 0.5 center meter off trouser seam.
I then drew around the first drafts to get my final patterns adding on 0.5 seam allowence. I then cut them out and placed them onto my matterial. I found it quite hard with the fabric being so stretchy, cutting the material was also abit of a struggle and not very neat. I began with the touser blocks. Sowing both the legs together inbetween the front and back pieces I inserted a piece of matterial inbetween the front and back touser which I would stuff to make it 3D like my design. I did both legs and then atteched them. I moved onto the bodice doing both front bodices and attching them. Next I did the sleeve then added it to the bodice.
I then had to attach both the bodice and the tousers together. I had no idea how to go about doing this. I decided to attach it how I would with a sleeve. I tuen the bodice inside out and then pinned it to the tousers and sowed along it. The fit was not perfect and next time i would make the bodice smaller.
