editing

I felt the image was to much of a wash of colours so I went round the outside of the figure with the paint tool in the colour white to give edge and a 3D look. I'm very happy with the out come and feel confident in photo shop and enjoyed this brief to.
I add both images together by cuting the first image and pasting it onto the back ground, you could see some  of the background still where I had missed areas when easing it, I used a laying to take out the bits which stood out again the new background.

Here is another image I had taken, I adjuested the sharpness of the image to make it more textured. I wanted to use this as a back ground.

Step two of my photo shopping was to cute out the back ground. I used the ease tool to do this, zooming in so I could it very accurate and to go round the fine edges such as the hair and around the ears. I also adjusted the skin tone to make it more light and have less shadows.

Here is the image I had began with, I have taken this picture myself. I got inspiration from the I-D blog post. This image has no edit features on it.

FINAL OUTCOME.

Using photoshop i have edited a illustration of my own, (which is on an older post).  Adding colour to the face, jacket and bracelet using the brush tool. Making it have a soft edgar and also changing the opacity so the colour is not to bold or harsh. To give it edge i then added a bright pink to the design and also to the bracelet to contrast with the tonal range on other area's.

Once again i am happy with the outcome of this photoshop image. I am gaining confident in my own illustrations and feel that my skills in both photoshop and illustration have improved and now i am understanding i am enjoying this process even if it takes hours on end.

PHOTOSHOP.

This is my first experience of using Photoshop since GCSE. I had forgotten how to use it and the effect I could use. I had drawn an image and scanned it in to edit. I began by making the background a block colour of white and removing the smudges of pencil and shadings. Using the erase toll to do this, zooming in on the edges of the illustration to make the erasing accurate. Then using the healing brush, I removed the odd pencil lines on the glasses and nose. Too add colour for the lips and glasses I used the paintbrush, making the brush have a 15-pixel soft-edge. I did this on a layer in case I changed my mind about the colour. Once I had filled in the colour of the glasses I erased the around the outside of the shape to make it neat. I then flattened the whole image to loose the layers.

I am very happy with the outcome of this illustration I have created, its simple with very soft colours.

MY ILLUSTRATIONS.

I took inspiration from Cassandra Rhodin on this illustration, I liked her sharp and bold lines used on the hair and facual features so i tried to do the same. I did not want it to look to alike and tried to make the eyes look different by circles getting larger from the pupil. Also in the background i added a splash of colour like Rhodin has, i wanted it to stand out so i thought yellow would be a stricking colour to choose.

I then wanted to adapt a photo to an illustration, i took this Max Mara advert in Vogue and put my own twist on it. The basic outline is the same but i tried to change the garment being warn and only do half of it so i could add something in photoshop if i wanted to later on. I am very pleased with this outcome as i felt i didnt have a style of illustration and could not adapt photo's.

FASHION + TECHNOLOGY.

As technology becomes more and more of a everyday thing that people from all over the world use fashion has also had to keep up and change to modern times. From magazines to app's on ipads for vogue, to CAD CAM, (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing) to produces products, internet such as blogs and webfeeds and finally fashion video's.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7ryMzZQICA, This link will take you to the first 4D fashion experience by Ralph Lauren. One of the most creative ways to present a new collection, its audience grabbing and the latest technology to hit the fashion industry.

CAD CAM stands for, Acronym for computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing. By using a computer softwear device it manifactures the product that has been designed. CAD gives a very acurate measurement on your design. It also gives you a draft and shows the areas that will be folded. It helps the process of design and marketing, producing a data management plan, pattern creating and modification, sizing and made to measure, pattern grading anf lay planning. All these features give a great advantage to small companys.

Fashion magazines are the classic way of promoting and advertising trends up coming, and how the season's are developing. Vogue is a magazine that has converting to techniology with a app to get the magazine with the touch of your finger. I think this is a good idea for people on the move and makes it portable. Fashion is always looking for the next big and technology can really give it that added axtra for people to be wowed.

I-D, disarm.

This image is in I-D magazine winter 2010. I think this is a really clever way of using photography and photoshop to show how a garment works and can look and fit against the body. You could use it to show how clingy or loose it is and also the thickness. Even though the second layer of the image is off balence the colour and flattness of the photo makes it interesting. On the original photo the model is wearing ear ring accessories which on the second image he is not, as i feel they would have ruined the illustration.

RESEARCH.

Modern Illustration
Cassandra Rhodin, Leopard is to me an amazing illustrator. I love her use of line and unique way of styling facial features. The eyes are what you can recognise her work from other illustrators. I also like the way the ink has had water added to it to give it tone and texture and shades area's of the illustration. I feel like this design is not to fussy and clean with the crisp white background. Some have a splash of colour in places, i think this works well as the colour isn’t cold and does not stand out or seem to obvious in comparison to the illustration that are free of colour.

Tradisional Illustration.

These illustration are by an artist known as Gatochy. This work has feature on the cover of Vogue a many times which is where i came across his illustrations. To me these illustrations look old and it seems obvious  they are not modern, the colour seems worn and they are very basic details, using block colours and obvious shapes. Water colour is the key material used here.
